The Role
We’re seeking a skilled Backend Engineer to join our team and help build the infrastructure that powers meaningful AI interactions. You’ll be working on the core systems that enable natural, responsive conversations with our AI bros.
What You’ll Do
- Design and implement scalable backend services using Node.js and TypeScript
- Build and maintain AI infrastructure for LLM integration and optimization
- Develop real-time communication systems using WebSocket and RTMP protocols
- Work with vector databases for efficient similarity search and retrieval
- Implement classification systems for conversation context understanding
- Manage bare-metal servers and distributed systems
- Optimize performance and latency for real-time messaging
- Collaborate with AI researchers to improve conversation quality
Required Skills
- 3+ years experience with Node.js and TypeScript
- Strong understanding of distributed systems and microservices architecture
- Experience with real-time communication protocols (WebSocket, RTMP)
- Familiarity with AI/ML infrastructure and LLM integration
- Knowledge of vector databases and similarity search
- Experience with Python for AI/ML components
- Solid understanding of system design and scalability
Nice to Have
- Experience with bare-metal server management
- Knowledge of AI/ML deployment optimization
- Background in chat or messaging applications
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP)
- Understanding of DevOps practices
- Knowledge of security best practices
